Course Aim: to support and equip professionals working with children and young people with basic understanding and skills to promote lifelong good mental health
Who is it for? This course is for everyone in Portsmouth who: works with children directly or indirectly; works with adults who are parents; or works within a community setting.T
Learning Outcomes:
This course will equip delegates to:
- Understand the difference between wellbeing and mental health
- Know how ages, stages and challenges can impact on wellbeing and mental health
- Understand how our own wellbeing and mental health impacts the children and families we support
- Be able to apply the learning within the scope of their own role to promote better mental health for all
Time: This is a three-hour taught course which we offer on a regular basis during term time.
Certificate: You will receive a certificate on completion of evaluation on line.
Prerequisite: None
NB - This session is the first part of a 3-part training programme covering the foundations for supporting children and families' mental health. Subsequent sessions will cover 'noticing difficulties and starting conversations' and 'further support and signposting to specialist services'. Whilst each session will be helpful on its own, we ask delegates/attendees to book on to all 3 parts over time in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding and skills base.
