THIS TRAINING IS FOR PROFESSIONALS WORKING WITH PORTSMOUTH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND WILL FOCUS ON PORTSMOUTH PROCESS AND PRACTICE. IF YOU DO NOT WORK IN PORTSMOUTH PLEASE VISIT YOUR RESPECTIVE SAFEGUARDNG PARTNERSHIP FOR TRAINING
Aim: To provide introductory training on how to work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who might be at risk of abuse and neglect.
Who is it for? Basic Awareness Safeguarding Children course can be accessed by everyone whether you are working with children directly or indirectly, working with adults who are parents in Portsmouth or working within a communuity setting.
Intercollegiate Document for health care staff - Level 1 & 2: All staff including non-clinical managers and staff working in healthcare services
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
- Recognise potential indicators of child maltreatment: physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect.
- Be able to follow local policies and procedures.
- Be able to identify what action to take when you have safeguarding concerns including to whom you should report your concerns to and seek advice and support from.
Time: This is a three-hour taught course which we offer on a regular basis during term time.
Certificate: You will receive a certificate on completion of evaluation on line.

PSCP training on-line is delivered with the same purpose as in person training - to engage in a learning experience which will include discussion, reflection and participation.
