Introduction to Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

• Know who the LADO is, the role of the LADO, how and when to make a referral
• Identify when you / your setting might have contact with the LADO and be clear on your duty to report and record allegations of harm and concerns
• Know the LADO thresholds (distinction between harm and significant harm) and possible outcomes
