Aim: This is a multiagency workshop aiming to help participants understand when medical examinations are indicated for suspected CSA, the benefits to the child and the process involved for Portsmouth, IOW and SE Hampshire children
Who is it for: The workshop is fully funded and open to practitioners and managers. It is particularly targeted to professionals working in the police, children’s social care and health practitioners involved in child safeguarding.
Learning Outcomes:
- To understand when a safeguarding medical examination is indicated in child sexual abuse
- To know where and how to refer children for medical examinations according to requirements for forensic information
- To know what a child-friendly medical examination involves, and to understand the benefits for the child
Time: 90 minutes (45 minute presentation followed by Q+A and case discussions)
Certificate: You will receive a certificate on completion of evaluation on line.
